KulturCommunity (English)

The KulturCommunity Basel initiative aims to make the cultural offerings in the canton of Basel more accessible. With the help of Basel institutions, cultural establishments and partners such as Caritas beider Basel, the Swiss Red Cross and Quartiertreffpunkte Basel, it provides free offers that enable people in precarious living situations to take part in cultural experiences and meet others. KulturCommunity also publicizes the numerous free offers in Basel that already exist for refugees, asylum seekers and those affected by poverty: free offers for refugees and asylum seekers, “Visit a museum together” and “Go to a cultural event together”.

Free offers for refugees and asylum seekers

A number of institutions and cultural establishments in Basel have free offers for refugees and asylum seekers. These offers are usually available to anyone with a residence permit with the N, F or B status and supplemental “refugee status” who lives in Basel city or the surrounding region. Please present your ID at the ticket office.

Visit a museum together

Refugees and asylum seekers residing in Basel city or the surrounding region enjoy free admission to most Basel museums: please simply present your residence permit with the N, F or B status (with supplemental “refugee status”) at the ticket office.

Go to a cultural event together

“Go to a cultural event together” allows people to share experiences at Basel's cultural institutions (theater, music, dance, literature, etc.). The partners of the KulturCommunity listed here provide their members with special offers for group visits or tandem visits with refugees, asylum seekers and those affected by poverty. As a partner, you will be informed 1 month in advance of each event via email. Ticket requests are accepted by email and tickets are sent via post to the respective partners to distribute to participants in a timely manner.
